Last night, I had the pleasure of attending a lovely party at a customer's home that we recently remodeled. The company was very enjoyable and the house looked amazing! In talking with a fellow guest, I got a question that I thought many people might have, so I'll answer it here. The question was, "How does your company work? Do you just bring in a bunch of other companies to work on a customer's house?"
I answered that we use a combination of our own employees and subcontractors for specialty trades. This way, we have a Markt & Company affiliated person running the job and doing the carpentry work, cleaning up and doing regular quality control. Our subcontractors and suppliers are made up mostly of companies we've worked with for many years, and we selectively bring in new companies when we find ones that we really want to work with. Our project managers also come in and review the work regularly to keep things running smoothly.

Another question that was asked was "Did you pick out all the colors and ideas in the kitchen?"
In this particular kitchen, as with many of our projects, our customers worked with a designer to choose layout, colors, finishes and fixtures. On this job, designer Judy McNeil met regularly with us and the customers; together we created a beautiful space and a happy client. Designers are experts in their field, and we recommend using one for many projects where there are multiple choices to be made. They put together a combination of textures, colors and surfaces that complement each other and make the room pop.
